They shared a kiss together and now they're sharing her kids.
Angelina Jolie’s older brother, James Haven, has stepped in as the
family "manny" while she and Brad Pitt work out the details of their
divorce and custody arrangements, Us Weekly is reporting.
According to the magazine, Haven's brotherly duties include taking care
of Pitt and Jolie's brood which includes Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara,
11, Shiloh, 10 and twins Knox and Vivienne, 8.
“He took on a more active daily role in June,” an insider close to Jolie told the magazine. “The kids call him ‘Uncle James.’”
Also an actor, the 43-year-old doting uncle has had small roles in
Jolie's films such as "Gia" and "Original Sin" but is best known for
smacking lips with his younger sister at the Golden Globes and Oscars in
2000.
Jolie, who won a Golden Globe and Academy Award for best-supporting
actress (for "Girl Interrupted) that year, gushed that she was "so in
love with my brother right now” during her acceptance speech. Naturally,
fans poked fun of their seemingly incestuous relationship.
But Pitt, 52, doesn't mind Haven stepping in as the man of the house.
“Brad thinks highly of James,” an insider told Us. “He’s always been incredible to the kids and is welcome in his home.”
Jolie, who filed for divorce last month, is reportedly living with her
kids and Haven in an 8,284-square-foot estate in Hollywood Hills.
Meanwhile, she and Pitt struck a temporary custody deal that includes
drug testing for the “Allied” actor and a supervised visit with his
kids.
Pitt is allegedly under investigation by the FBI and the L.A. County
Department of Children and Family Services for boozing and reportedly
getting physical with Maddox while the family was aboard a private jet
on Sept. 14.
