HURRICANE MATTHEW HAS CLAIMED AT LEAST 15 LIVES IN THE U.S.

Hurricane Matthew has had huge effect in many areas, the biggest being Haiti thus far, as thousands of lives were lost when the storm ripped through earlier this week.

Since then it has made its way to the southeastern part of the United States, sending many people into a panic.

According to the New York Times, there have been at least 15 lives that were claimed due to the storm. On Sunday, Hurricane Matthew was downgraded to a post-tropical cyclone after hitting North Carolina and Virginia over the weekend.

North Carolina Governor, Pat McCrory, said that the states death toll has risen to at least seven. While three deaths have been confirmed in Georgia, and around five deaths in Florida.

According to the National Hurricane Center, the storm has caused recording breaking flooding in the eastern parts of North Carolina, which has been the result of the life-threatening floods.

Governor McCrory says that 58 boat crews have rescued nearly 900 people, and more than 4,000 people are in shelters. Thousands of homes and businesses have been left without electricity.

The storm has also created recorded breaking flooding near Georgia’s state border with South Carolina.
