It looks like the justice department is to hunt the officer down,It’s been two years
since the wrongful death of Eric Garner. However, federal prosecutors
have yet to file charges against, Daniel Pantaleo, the officer
responsible for his death.
According to The New York Post, Washington-based federal prosecutors plan to bring those charges against Pantaleo.
Sources said to The Post, “It’s going to happen sooner than later,
Washington wants to indict him.” DC federal investigators replaced the
ones from Brooklyn due to their actions of being reluctant when it came
to charging Pantaleo.
The source continued to say, “We already … came to a conclusion which
they didn’t like. It’s truly disgraceful what they’re doing.”
Garner died on a street corner in Staten Island back in July of 2014
after police officers were seen using the chokehold method to restrain
him. The entire incident was caught on video, which showed officers
violating Garner’s civil rights because he was selling untaxed
cigarettes.
