Former Yahoo
employees claim that the company was given a classified U.S. government
directive and was ordered to monitor millions of incoming emails to find
out specific information.
As far as what exactly the government was on the hunt for, that code
hasn’t been cracked but we’re clued that whatever it was, they were
searching for a set of characters.
NY Post is reporting that the spy agency is suspected to be either
the FBI or National Security Agency.
Either way, are you not turned off
by the fact that the government is playing peek-a-boo with our personal
emails? What’s more skin-crawling is that we don’t even know if and what
information was transferred.
All Yahoo had to say about the matter was that they are “a law
abiding company, and complies with the laws of the United States.”
