Alaba Market Big Boy, Nnamani, Arrested For Armed Robbery

A trader at the Alaba Int’l Market in Lagos, Mr Emeka Nnamani has been arrested and charged before a Lagos court for his alleged involvement in armed robbery in the state.

The big boy was arrested by the operatives of the State Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS after he reportedly robbed two victims at gun point in the market in broad daylight.

The victims, Peter Marcel and Ogechi Chukwudi, were accosted by Nnamani and his gang on their way home after business. They reportedly pointed guns at them and robbed them about N370,000 they had with them and escaped.

However, the matter was reported to police and the victims identified Nnamani who was well known in the market. He was trailed and arrested by the police and detained at SARS.

Enugu State-born Nnamani reportedly confessed that he was engaged by the market leaders during the period they had crises. He narrated that when peace eventually returned to the market, he had no other work to do and so he joined the armed robbery gang.

The suspect was charged before Ikeja Magistrates court for conspiracy and armed robbery.

The other suspects who were his accomplices were said to be on the run and at large but the police are on their trailed to get them arrested.

The court refused to take Nnamani’s his plea and ordered him to be remanded in prison custody.

The presiding Magistrate, B.O. Osunsanmi directed the prosecutor to duplicate and his send his file to the DPP for advice. The matter was adjourned till 20 November, 2017.
