They are not kind to their brother, not to talk of others. The Ogun state Police Command have arrested two herdsmen over the alleged kidnap and murder of their kinsman, Taye Amodu.
The suspects Hassan Amodu and Abubakar Abdullah kidnapped the late Amodu on October 23, 2017 at Obada Oko area of Abeokuta and also made away with eight cows belonging to him.
Spokesman for the Command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed the incident, said upon receiving the report, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Iliyasu, directed that those behind the dastardly act be brought to book in the shortest possible time.
“The case was taken over by the officer in charge of Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS) and “in compliance with the CP’s directive, the FSARS operatives swung into action and at about 5:30pm of the same day, the hideout of the culprit was located in Imeko area through technical intelligence.”
“On interrogation, they confessed to have killed the victim because he was struggling with them while they were taking him away and the body has been buried in a shallow grave inside the forest. They equally confessed taking away eight cows of the victim,” he said.
Oyeyemi added that the suspects would be arraigned in court as soon as investigation is concluded.
