The $26 billion deal saga rocking the NNPC and the Ministry of Petroleum Resources is far from being over. The NNPC has responded to the leaked letter of the minister of state for petroleum resources, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, describing most of his allegations as false.
In a statement signed by Ndu Ughamadu, group general manager, group public affairs division, the NNPC said Kachikwu’s allegations are “baseless”, maintaining that due process was followed.
The GMD of NNPC, Dr. Baru, had said President Buhari is the Minister of Petroleum and he reports to him, not to Dr. Kachikwu, who’s minister of state in the same ministry.
