PHOTOS: Kidnapper Evans Changes His Plea To Not Guilty, Lagos Amends Charges Against Him

The trial of notorious kidnap kingpin, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, aka Evans, who was arrested on June 10 continues in Lagos on Thursday. He and his accomplices were brought to court in cuffs.

The Lagos State Government has amended the charges it filed against Evans and his agents. When two of the charges were read to Evans, he pleaded NOT guilty.

The two-count charge has to do with conspiracy and kidnapping of one Dunu Donatus. When the court reconvened at 11.45am, the amended charges were read to all and they pleaded “not guilty”.

The Director of Public Prosecution, DPP, Lagos, Titilayo Shitta-Bey told Justice Hakeem Oshodi that the amendment relates only to the punishment section for the second charge.

The Prosecution has indicated their readiness to proceed with the trial. They have three witnesses in the court to testify. But the judge adjourned the matter to Friday, November 3, 2017.
