The Edo state police command have arrested three suspects over the murder of Prof Paul Otasowie, who is an Engineering lecturer in the University of Benin (UNIBEN).
Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the command, Moses Nkombe, confirmed the arrest, adding that the arrested suspects will assist the police in their investigation.
The Nissan Premiere car used to track the victim to his house have also been recovered by the Edo state police command.
He said: “In the course of trying to unravel the cause of the incident, three suspects were arrested and the Nissan Primera that was used in tracing the victim to his house was recovered by the police.
“The suspects are helping the police currently to unravel the cause of that incident.”
Prof Otasowie was shot dead by gunmen in front of his residence on Ekehuan Road on Wednesday.
