Someone sent me one of those cheap articles from a Nigerian Professor blaming churches for “Only Praying” without working, claiming that was the bane of Nigeria’s underdevelopment. And immediately I asked, are Our Churches & Pastors stopping those elected into government offices from doing their jobs?
MY TAKE ON THOSE BLAMING CHURCHES & PASTORS IN NIGERIA:
Most of those in government positions lack the fear of God, they are people giving to enjoyment and S*xual Immorality. They only remember religion when they want to contest election.
Government has its roles. Churches (Pastors) have their roles.
Pastors are succeeding in their roles to a large extent BUT the people in government are failing in their roles; due to lack of diligence, initiative, capacity and refusal to study to show themselves worthy.
It is lazy minds that blame Pastors for the mess in Nigeria. How many Pastors have held positions of authority in a state or at the federal level before in Nigeria? The consequences of Poor Governance would have sent more people into crime if not for Churches and Pastors.
Most countries have churches, yet those in government are doing their jobs and the countries are moving forward.
Redeemed Church has hundred of branches in America. The Christian community in America and some of the countries we look up to are Excellent, they pray very well. US has the best Christian Movies in the world – War Room, Courage, etc. The Christians are serving God as expected and contributing to technology, banking, media (without s”x and nudity which many in this generation love), manufacturing, etc.
The Wright Brothers who started the Airplane are children of a Bishop.
Christians are not sleeping. They are Working & Praying.
NIGERIANS SHOULD ASK THOSE BLAMING CHURCHES & PASTORS FOR THE POOR STATE OF THE COUNTRY:
is the government working to build a road or school or hospital or factory anywhere and Our Churches went and told them to stop the work that PRAYER will do it?
The people in government are failing the citizens in their responsibilities. Simple!
Blaming the Church & Pastors for the mess in Nigeria is a misguided intellectual journey.
