Florida is left wondering why once again after another deadly
nightclub mass shooting.
According to
the Huffington Post, dozens of bullets were sprayed in the parking lot
of Fort Myers’ Club Blu Bar And Grill around 12:30 am this morning. The
club had promoted a “Swimsuit Glow Party” that was open to all ages,
citing a flyer that read no Ids would be checked upon entrance.
It had been confirmed that the two killed during the shooting were
18-year-old Stef’an Strawder, who was a young man with a
promising basketball career, and 14-year-old Sean Achilles. It has been
reported that people between the ages of 12 and 27 were all taken to the
hospital with minor to life threatening injuries.
Tatianna Nouhaioi, a party goer, details the horrific night.
“It was a young teen event. There were kids. The kid I was holding in my
lap, he was 14 years old that got shot,” Nouhaioi told ABC News. “And
then there was a little girl who also got shot and she was 13. One of
the security guard’s daughter got shot, so I mean there was kids 13, 14,
15, 16. It was a young kids event.”
The area is now deemed safe and authorities have three suspects in
custody, apparently it is not being seen as an act of terrorism.
The club has also since released a statement:
“We are deeply sorry for all involved. We tried to give the teens
WHAT WE THOUGHT WAS A SAFE PLACE TO HAVE A GOOD TIME. Ages 12-17. There
was armed security as well as full security, inside and out. As the club
was closing and parents were picking their children up…..that’s when all
this took place. There was nothing more we could of done as you see it
was not kids at the party that did this despicable act. Our condolences
to all parties involved. PRAY FOR OUR CITY!”
The area is still an active crime scene but it is deemed “safe.” We will give you more details as they become available.
