Cops hunt pair of Vladimir Putin fans who hung 40-foot banner on Manhattan Bridge

Two men were responsible for lugging the 20-foot wide banner of the Kremlin strongman that was unfurled over the side of the Manhattan Bridge Thursday, sparking an internet firestorm over Donald Trump’s BFF, police sources said Friday.
Surveillance cameras on the East River span showed the duo lugging the massive rolled-up banner of the Russian president with the words “peacemaker” on the bottom on the bridge’s outer bicycle path at about 1:20 p.m., according to cops.
They hung the 40-foot-long banner from a small gap between the safety fence and the railing, police sources said.

The installation took about 30 minutes to complete, officials estimated.
As they set up, a bicyclist called 911 reporting what was going on, but by the time cops arrived, the suspects had unfurled their message and run off. They were still being sought Friday, cops said.
