Popular Nigerian-French singer, Asa has disassociated herself from Guaranty Trust Bank(GTB), despite giving them their most famous theme song, “The Place To Be”.
A fan of the singer had tweeted at her, asking if GTB had thanked her enough for the beautiful song. However Asa’s reaction shocked many when she stated that she doesn’t want to be linked to the popular bank.
The song dropped in 2009, with the bank using it as their theme song to great effect. The song was played in all GT banks nationwide but details of the singer’s agreement with the bank is not known. Speculations on twitter point to a case of breach of either trust or contract.
