Pregnant Teenage Girl Arrested In Delta For Alleged Stealing

According to Prince Gwamnishu Harrison, CEO of Behind Bars Initiative, a 17yrs  old lady identified as Ogechukwu pictured above (middle) is currently being detained in A Division, Asaba, Delta State for alleged stealing. She has been in detention for five days and was refused bail.

Her staying in police cell for the past five days was allegedly due to N15,000 bail she couldn’t provide. Harrison said the IPO (Corporal Ama Okereke) whose picture appears below threatened to charge her to court. Harrison said her continued detention is barbaric, inhumane and abuse of her Fundamental Human Rights by Corporal Ama Okereke.

Others arrested with her secured their bail by paying huge sum to police, Ogechukwu had no money.

Yesterday at about 9:45pm, she was eventually released on bail but is set to be charged to court today.
